Legacy and Power of Prayer

5-5-2016

I picked up a book called "Battle Plan for Prayer: From Basic Training to Targeted Strategies" which cane be purchased Here. This is my own personal take on what ive read. I Aim to do a chapter day. There are a total of 35 chapters. Im also digging in to the book of revelations:D I hope you all enjoy the first two chapters as much as i did(got a little carried away reading lol).

Legacy of Prayer:
"O you who hear prayer, to you all men come" -Psalms 65:2

There is absolutely nothing prayer can't address, because, there's NOTHING to difficult for God.

In Genesis(25:21) Issac's wife couldnt bare any children. Issac prayed and prayed, and eventually his wife gave birth to Jacob. Jacob would grow to become the father of Israel.

In Exodos(33:11), Moses prayed to God, speaking to Him as he would a dear friend. God gave Moses guidance and revelation for his decisions to be an effective leader.

In Psalms(55:17), David spoke with God morning, noon, and night.

And in Mark(14:38) the very first full sermon of how to pray was recorded. Challenging followers to watch and pray.

Power of Prayer:
"The weapon of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses" -2 Corinthians 10:4

In the 1860s, during the American Civil War, trench warfare was a very big strategic maneuver. The strength to this was the protection it gave. The weakness, however, was that there was no way to to maneuver properly for a surprise attack. That is, until the tank came into play. Tanks offered bot mobility and protection needed on the battlefield.

Ok? What does that have to do with prayer or the power of it you ask?

Prayer is OUR armored tank. In Ephesians 6:13, didnt Paul talk tonus about the "Armor of God"? With prayer as an equally essential element of our spiritual warefare, our prayers, when put into action, "not even the gates of hell will prevail against it"(matthew 16:18)! Prayers is quite the moving force just like our friend mr tank.

Paul, despite being chained and jail, kept praying plowing through any obstacle that was thrown his way.

"With God, All things are possible"-Matthew 19:26. Am i right?

If you wanna get all techy, prayer is almost like a cell phone. Except we dont have to worry about reception, or data plans, being billed, etc.

Prayer is so useful and has so many positives, I cant think of any reason NOT to pray! It can help give you strength, hope, relief, grace, humility, mercy, its almost like having a counselor thats available 24/7 on 'speed dial'. It truly is an amazingly wonderful thing
